"Warrior Gang" comic strips & booklets

T he "Warrior Gang" began in 1956 as strips in Young Warrior, a monthly children's comic paper published by the Worldwide Evangelisation Crusade (WEC) which was originally founded by missionary CT Studd and his wife Priscilla in the UK.

The first strip was "William the Warrior," drawn by cartoonist Dudley D. Watkins . (Watkins was also one of the top artists for D.C. Thomson in Scotland, the secular comics publishers of Dandy and Beano.) The next strip that Watkins drew was "Tony and Tina - The Twins."

These strips, filled with Scriptural quotations, were collected into a series of 32-page, black & white booklets known as the "Warrior Gang Series."
